Ultra Compact

It's all about choice with Merlo - here the choice is dictated by physical size. Size IS important in some applications! Like inside city centre building or underground in car parks?. Maybe places where only a skid-steer has gone before?

Physical size
At only 1.8m (71 inches in old money) wide, there is little to compete. What there is often have a very restricted cab size and boom positioning makes visibility over the right shoulder a real problem.
In these sorts of environment, visibility is an absolute key to safety. And, who wants to spend all day inside a cab, with the doors closed, when you can hardly fit inside?
So, two key features in the Merlo design team's brief - make it comfy and make it safe! To this end, the cab dimensions are exactly the same as on other melro machines, just about the biggest in the business. And, operator visibility is completly unrestricted all around!

Power and transmission
This little baby has a Kubota 75HP engine - that's the same power/weight ratio as the P32.6 Compact series. No-one can say that they are any slouch, so expect a bright performance!
The transmission is, of course, hydrostatic for ease of use, precision, instant braking - in fact, all the advantages you would expect. One small difference, the UltraCompact has a single speed range only, as road use is not a big requirement. Top speed is still a pretty healthy 36 kph, though.

Fixed front axle
Newly designed Merlo axles feature epicyclical hub reduction and integral dry disc service brakes. A high ground clearance forr this sector, together with positioning of the axles right on the corners of the machine, mean high approach and departure angles.
The new UltraCompact Merlo panoramic - tiny in size but with a big performance (and cab)!
