CarbonID(TM) Calculator Tool
10 February 2012
Consumers are increasingly demanding farm produce with a reduced carbon footprint. In an effort to support you in facing this new challenge, New Holland has developed a carbon footprinting method. This provides you with a carbon calculator tool to define the current carbon footprint of your tractor fleet. The outcome shows the reduction you could achieve by replacing some of your tractors with ECOBlue™ tractors.
Carbon footprinting is a key pillar of the Clean Energy Leader strategy which aims to decrease the environmental impact of agriculture whilst improving productivity.
Calculate the carbon footprint of your fleet (max. 20 tractors) based on fuel usage or tractor hours by selecting the corresponding buttons, just follow the link below to get started.

New Holland celebrates British agricultural manufacturing at the opening of its new Customer Centre
New Holland has unveiled its new Customer Centre – cementing its commitment to the UK’s agricultural manufacturing industry.
The company’s headquarters in Basildon, Essex, has been firmly rooted at the centre of British tractor manufacturing and agriculture since it was first opened in 1964, and remains the only agricultural tractor plant in the UK today. The plant was recently awarded the World Class Manufacturing Award and the Manufacturing in Action Award at this year’s British Manufacturer of the Year Awards 2011 event. It was also a runner up for the most prestigious prize of the evening: the Manufacturer of the Year Award.
Every year, New Holland welcomes more than 2,000 visitors to Basildon and the new Customer Centre will provide a bespoke facility to gain a first-hand New Holland experience. Covering about 600 square metres, it features a state-of-the-art auditorium, a display T7 tractor and merchandise shop. All visits also include an audio tour of the plant.
In attendance during the official opening was John Baron, MP for Basildon and Billericay. New Holland’s HQ lies within Mr Baron’s constituency and continues to represent a major local employer, providing much-needed investment for the local economy.
New Holland’s Managing Director, Andrew Watson, said: “We are understandably very proud of our Built in Britain credentials and we export 85 per cent of our award-winning tractors to over 120 countries worldwide from Basildon.
“As a business, we are committed to continuing to support the agricultural industry in the UK and Republic of Ireland, specifically its growth and development, with cutting edge products and an extensive dealer network.”
During the event, Carlo Lambro, New Holland’s European Vice President, explained that New Holland’s plant in Basildon remains essential to New Holland’s wider European success.
“New Holland’s reputation as a leader in innovative agricultural manufacturing continues to be strengthened by our plant in Basildon,” he said. “The plant, which produces the award-winning T6 and T7 tractor models, remains integral to our continued development both here and across the European market.”
As well as having the chance to look around the new centre, delegates also toured the plant to see for themselves world-class manufacturing in action.
New Holland Basildon Plants Wins Awards
25 November 2011
New Holland’s Basildon plant, which produces the 112 to 228 hp T6 and T7 tractor ranges, has been honoured three times at one of Britain’s most prestigious manufacturing awards.
Not only did it take the World Class Manufacturing Award and the Manufacturing in Action Award, but it was also runner up for the most prestigious prize of the evening: the Manufacturer of the Year Award.
The ceremony, organised by The Manufacturer Magazine, was held at Lancashire County Cricket Club. The event played host to around fifty of Britain’s top manufacturing companies. The guest speakers included the United Nations commander in the Bosnian conflict, Sir Bob Stewart and the former land speed record holder, Richard Noble OBE.
Basildon Plant Manager Colin Larkin, was at the event with 20 of his colleagues. He accepted the World Class Manufacturing award on behalf of the company.
Colin said, “Having worked at Basildon for over 20 years in a variety of positions, it was with sheer delight that I went up to accept these awards. I think they really acknowledge what the team has managed to achieve so far.
“After several years of hard work, we’ve transformed the plant and the way it works and this significant industry recognition is a credit to the 600 people who work in manufacturing at the Basildon plant. The timing for these awards comes at an incredibly exciting time for New Holland, as the company continues to develop cutting-edge innovations and customer solutions which place us at the forefront of agricultural manufacturing.”
