Garden Machinery / Groundscare Department Manager

Position:    Garden Machinery / Groundscare Department Manager
Location:   Heathfield, Devon
Hours:       Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5pm. Saturdays (alternate) 8:00am – 12:30pm
Package:    Excellent remuneration package

Excellent opportunity, seeking a Groundscare Department Manager to join our organisation based at Heathfield. 

The successful candidate will be a confident, friendly and approachable person who will liaise with both staff and customers. Excellent communication skills, excellent customer care skills and good administration ability is a must.

Selling, servicing and repairing the company’s full product range of Outdoor Power Equipment and Accessories, including Chainsaws, Hedge Cutters and Lawn Mowers, expanding into our Yamaha product range of Golf Buggies and Quad bikes.

Selling to domestic customers, contractors, independent landscapers, Local Authorities and larger end users, able to sell into all market sectors establishing good on-going relationships with customers.

Previous knowledge of outdoor power tools and machinery essential. Must be capable of demonstrating outdoor power tools including Chainsaws and Ride-on mowers.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Dealing with the day to day running of the Department
• Stock control
• Department profitability
• Handling customer enquiries and complaints
• Booking in work via the diary and company schedule system for the technician
• Administering Technician Training Courses
• Arranging collection and delivery of machinery (Sales and Service)
• Performing any other tasks as required to contribute to the overall performance of the department
• Achieve outstanding customer service and provide customers with groundscare machinery advice

Skills and Qualifications

• Technical qualifications and experience with Garden and Groundscare machinery
• Excellent verbal communication skills – have the ability to convey information verbally to fellow team members and customers
• Able to work under pressure and work well as part of a team
• Reliable and takes pride in the quality of their work
• Develop and appraise staff to ensure that all team members have the product knowledge and customer service skills required for the effective performance of their roles
• Manage promotions, stock levels, quality issues, sales performance, customer requests and any other relevant aspects of retailing
• Ensure stock is always of the highest standard in terms of quality, presentation and merchandising and re-order as appropriate within parameters agreed with the Sales Director

Field Service Engineer

Position: Field Service Engineer
Location:  Heathfield, Devon
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5p.m. Saturdays (alternate) 8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.  Additional seasonal hours
Package:  Excellent remuneration package and company vehicle

Immediate vacancy at premium main dealership in Agricultural Engineering within our expanding field team for a Service Engineer. This position is based primarily in the field covering mid and south Devon and surrounding areas.

We require an experienced Service technician to work as part of a dedicated and friendly team. The suitable candidate is required to have sound technical knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.  Agricultural experience desirable.  Servicing and repairing land equipment and mini construction.

The role requires a self-motivated individual to work under their own initiative when dealing with both routine and emergency breakdowns.  Requires excellent communication skills, a flexible approach and work well as part of a team.

Key Skills and responsibilities required: 
• A NVQ qualification, or previous experience within the field of Land Based Engineering
• Ability to communicate at all levels as dealing with customers on a day to day basis
• Be willing to participate in training to improve and further your skills
• Be willing to work overtime at peak periods
